We knew that she had Down Syndrome and complications but eagerly awaited her with open arms. We enjoyed six precious hours with her. The nurses called her feisty and she fought hard.  She passed peacefully in the arms of her parents.

  1. What a sweet, lovely baby. So incredibly sorry for your loss. I have been following your blog and praying for a different outcome – you have touched so many people with Mabel’s story. She is a very special person indeed.

  2. Meghan, I am so sorry for your loss. Lucy told me about your blog – and I knew you a bit when we were at Yale. I’ve been captivated by your blog and have marveled at your clear and thoughtful writing and amazing strength. I wish you and your family healing, love, and support.

  3. I always struggle to find any words to say to someone grieving this kind of loss because there really just are no words. I don’t want to inadvertently say the wrong thing, or touch a raw nerve at such a sensitive time, but I do want to say that people you’ve never met are grieving and praying for you. You don’t know me, but I know of you through Roo Ciambriello’s blog, and I’m keeping you in my thoughts and sending prayers of love and strength and peace. Thank you for sharing your story, your brave journey, and your beautiful daughter, with us.

  4. What a beautiful baby! Just wanted to tell you that i am so impressed of your strength and courage. I believe you were blessed and so lucky to hold her in your hands and being able to hug and kiss her and feel her. I myself have lost three babies before holding my precious little girl in my arms. Be strong. Your little angel will be with you all the time! Sending you my thoughts and prayers from far far away!
